Welcome to another milestone! This is the 100th post on Sweet Tea Epiphany!

I’ve been blogging for over a year now and I absolutely love it. It’s a lot more work than I expected going in, but it’s also a ton of fun! I don’t know how I was ever able to come up with 100 posts to write without ever running out topics, but I still have pages and pages of ideas just waiting to be written so we’re not going anywhere any time soon 😉

You know that time I wrote 1200 words about what I do every day? Well. In honor of my 100th blog post, today I’m sharing 100 fun facts you didn’t know you didn’t want to know about me 😉 I’ve been working on this list for a few months now, but I had so much writing it and am so excited to finally share it with you! I love reading these kinds of posts from other bloggers and I hope you enjoy getting to know me a little better <3

 

  1. My celebrity crush is without a doubt Dylan O’Brien. I’m borderline obsessed and not even ashamed of that. Obviously, he belongs here at number 1.
  2. Needless to say, my favorite movie is The Internship.
  3. A close second though are both Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs movies.
  4. Probably because I love puns. Give me all the puns.
  5. I’ve kept in touch with a pen pal for over a decade (read our story here!) and have just started writing to a second!
  6. I wanted to be a teacher ever since I can remember. I eventually changed that goal at the beginning of high school and decided to study engineering in college.
  7. I have a brother who’s five years younger than me. Our main form of communication is TV quotes and gang accents. I’m serious. 405
  8. But I’m so lucky to have over 50 sisters who I love so much!IMG_3366
  9. I found my passion for construction and right now am hoping to have a career as a site superintendent.
  10. I absolutely love flowers. I’ve started picking up a cheap bouquet here and there when I can. They just make me so happy! 243
  11. I was a student ambassador to Europe for just shy of a month before I started high school. Obviously, it’s in the top three for best trips of my life!normandy
  12. I’ve taken Spanish for 8 years now. Still super far from fluent…
  13. My phone is almost always on vibrate, but I love my ringtone. Curious?
  14. I will fight for the oxford comma until the day I die. Actually, I’ll advocate for him from my grave.
  15. I will also always be team iPhone. You will never convince me otherwise.
  16. Though I will never buy a Mac. I’m too set in my PC ways.
  17. For some reason, I absolutely hated google and refused to use anything associated with it up until senior year of high school when I discovered my love for Google Drive.
  18. I’m obsessed with Google Drive.
  19. And Google Calendar – so much so that I wrote it a love letter! Read it here.
  20. No news team will ever replace the spot in my heart for my hometown’s channel 4.
  21. I started writing a novel in middle school. I finished 50-60 pages before I fell out of it, but I still have it!
  22. I played viola for a few years. I wasn’t any good, but the only reason I quit was because we got a new teacher at school. Good reason, I know
  23. I can count the number of people in my inner circle on one hand and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
  24. I met my best friend on the bus the first day of 6th grade. I don’t even know how we became friends, but hey, she’s still stuck with me so 😉 Love you!IMG_9324
  25. My roommate and I were randomly placed together and didn’t actually meet until move in day. We were roommates for two years and we’re basically the same person! Love you Abby!156
  26. I have a very hard time sleeping in a room with other people. My dorm roommate has been the only exception (sorry fam).
  27. It’s probably because I suffer from misophonia and it’s so annoying. Yes, it’s a real condition. Please learn about it.
  28. I visited 12 universities my senior year of high school. My dad and I actually drove the 13 hours down to Florida to tour…how we didn’t kill each other by the end of it, I’m not sure 😀
  29. I had no idea where I wanted to go to college and actually decided on which university I would commit to a few hours before my deadline. But hey, it worked out better than I ever could have hoped for – I absolutely love my campus community and my new city and wouldn’t trade them for anything! IMG_6886
  30. I went into college intending on majoring in bioengineering. One year-long, wild ride later, I found my home in civil and know this is where I’m meant to be.
  31. There were days in high school where I could go without saying a single word all day.
  32. I gave a speech at my graduation and that was the first time I gave a presentation where my voice didn’t falter once. People that had never said two words to me before came up to me and congratulated me. That day was a turning point for me and it was an incredible feeling.
  33. In my speech, I called a lot of people out, brought back one of my good friends’ encounter with a hurdle in seventh grade, and ended with a selfie version of a mic drop. One of the greatest experiences for sure!031
  34. I still struggle with anxiety, but it’s not as crippling as it used to be. Read the story here.
  35. I see everything as an adventure.
  36. Ice cream is my life.
  37. Muffins are a close second. Bring me a good muffin and I’ll love you forever.
  38. I have a weird enjoyment of hydrogen peroxide. I just think it’s so fun, I don’t know why.
  39. My biggest hero is Bill Nye. I’ve seen him a few times but my dream is to meet him (so if you know a guy….).067
  40. There was a period of time where I was obsessed with Kickstarter. I spent way too much money on things I’ve never used, but hey, supporting start-ups so…
  41. There was also a time I was obsessed with subscription boxes. I love surprises, pretty packages, and getting mail!
  42. I hate any kind of transportation (which is weird for a civil, I know). It severely stresses me out. Flying is without a doubt the worst, I swear I’m going to die every single time. I was actually convinced the plane was going to crash when we were returning from my SSB trip. Spoiler: we didn’t.
  43. I’m a huge advocate for sleep and regularly lecture people on how they need to get at least 8 hours every night and stop pulling all-nighters. My friends have learned not to complain to me about how tired they are 😉
  44. I changed my own life at the start of this year by deciding to choose joy. Read my story here.
  45. It’s probably fitting that my favorite color is yellow. In fact, my room at home in Maryland is bright yellow and I love it so much.
  46. I’m obsessed with Maryland and, as most Marylanders do, I have the flag everywhere– scarves, laptop stickers, car magnets, paintings, shirts, even a large flag hanging up in my room here in Raleigh!
  47. My family is Canadian!230
  48. I basically listen to exclusively country music in the car.
  49. And I don’t hate new country either. Sam Hunt, I love you. His was the best concert I’ve ever been to, hands down.418
  50. I take my coffee to match my soul – black and bitter. (I’m kidding. About the soul part. Mostly.)
  51. I love giraffes so much. I sponsored one a few years ago. His name was Angel and I love him.
  52. I can’t figure out my spirit animal and that really bothers me.
  53. Though I do know my spirit vegetable. It’s a pea. (Shoutout to my A.O.E. name twin!)
  54. I’m a Hufflepuff and it’s perfect. My roommate is also most definitely a Hufflepuff – I told you we’re the same person.
  55. My high school jobs revolved around kids and, because of my long blonde hair, I was regularly pointed out as Elsa or Rapunzel. I’m not really sure what to do with that…
  56. I’ve donated my hair three times now.IMG_9293
  57. Cinderella is my absolute favorite Disney princess.
  58. I’ve done gymnastics, cheerleading, figure skating, and lacrosse. I was also in dance class for like a day (so that totally counts right?).
  59. I have an unhealthy obsession with boxes. It pains me to break them down and recycle them, especially ones that are so well constructed! #allboxesarebeautiful
  60. When I die, I want my remains to be in one of those tree pod things. Yes, this is real.
  61. My appendix exploded when I was in eighth grade. It started as appendicitis, but I was misdiagnosed twice and my appendix didn’t appreciate that. I’m actually really upset that my scar is slowly fading away.
  62. The biggest thing I miss about my hometown is WaWa. It is so much better than Sheetz, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
  63. I was stuck in an elevator between floors of my dorm for over two hours. It was so hot, but I’m incredibly grateful I still had cell service, incredible roomies who waited for me the entire time, and was able to come out with a pretty funny story to tell!   64. In middle school, I worked on a team trying to send tadpoles to space.
  65. And in college, I worked on a team building a nuclear probe (because my school is awesome and we have a reactor on campus).
  66. I’d say my favorite author is Brian Harmon. I don’t know how to even describe his books, but the first ones are free for Kindle, so check him out!
  67. I love any book/movie that’s a suspenseful, psychological thriller.
  68. And I hate romances. I don’t have the patience or attention span for them.
  69. I love Friends, but I hate every single character (though Joey sometimes wins me over).
  70. I say “I’m gonna wing it” way too many times for way too many things I definitely should not wing.
  71. Which is weird since I’m 1000% a planner. I need to know everything so I can mentally prepare for it. Ask my solar team for that time we drove up to DC 😉
  72. I love surprises!
  73. All the way until high school, I collected bookmarks. I must have had hundreds before I finally threw them out (that’s what happens when you move out, sad).
  74. My biggest goal in life is to find a pizza vending machine. I’ve verified that they are in Croatia – Lauren, we will find it!
  75. I really want a winter wedding, snow and all. Blame my parents for getting married in October and me for always wanting to be different.
  76. I try to make it a personal mission to make everyone feel valued and important. “Beautiful” has become one of my most favorite words.
  77. I bought my first car after my freshman year of college and I love it so much.IMG_7451
  78. I don’t understand the whole naming cars thing. For something so common, it’s incredibly weird.
  79. I’ve had two tattoos in mind for a few years now, but who knows when I’ll ever get them. I’m hoping to get at least one before I graduate!
  80. I’m extremely self-conscious without nail polish.
  81. The only seafood I like are salmon and oysters/clams/mussels. Which is unfortunate considering Maryland has the best crabs you’ll ever eat (obviously).
  82. I may be from Maryland, but my football team has always been Miami!
  83. “Amanda” means “worthy of love.” I used to hate it, but now it means so much to me.
  84. It’s funny because my middle name, Corinne, means maiden. Thanks mom.
  85. I don’t curse.
  86. I’m very adamant about not drinking in college, even once I’m 21. People don’t understand it, but at least most of them respect it.
  87. I hate twitter. I have one though so if you’re interested 😉
  88. On the contrary, I love Facebook and if that makes me a middle-aged mom, so be it.
  89. I don’t keep up with politics as much as I probably should.
  90. I am fascinated with email signatures. I’m just so interested in how everyone represents themselves and what they choose to showcase.
  91. I am without a doubt a morning person, but that wasn’t always the case.
  92. I can’t drink a glass of plain milk, I just don’t like it. Chocolate is a maybe, it’d have to be pretty good.
  93. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, no contest. I even wrote an entire post about my favorite low-effort morning recipe!
  94. Mug recipes have changed my life. Check out my Pinterest board dedicated to them!
  95. One of the first things I notice about people is their eyes. I just love, love, love gorgeous eyes and I never want to look away (I know it makes me look creepy, but oh well).
  96. Pants are the enemy.
  97. I value technology-free time with people. I cherish experiences more than anything and ideally I’d only have phones out to document it; I’m a big “but first let me take a selfie” person.
  98. I absolutely love hymns. I’ve started listening to them while I’m doing homework and they’re just so beautiful.
  99. My personality type is INFJ-T and my star sign is Virgo. Search either of those on Pinterest and pretty much everything that comes up is exactly me.
  100. I truly believe that what happens is what is meant to be and that everything will work out in the end. I’ve seen it happen too many times to count.
