How I Became A Morning Person

How I Became A Morning Person-1

Mornings are my favorite part of the day! I’ve mentioned this a lot (see this, this, and this if you’re interested), but I haven’t really talked about how I gave myself the opportunity to fall in love with them! Before college, I could be in bed until 11 am if given the freedom to do so. Now, that would drive me absolutely insane. I have to be up by 8 am to not feel like I’m wasting my day away! If you like staying up late and sleeping in and that works with your lifestyle, more power to you. Today, though, I want to share how I (more or less subconsciously) became a morning person! This change, however accidental it may have been, turned out to be an unintentional contributor in making my life a much, much happier one.   Cycling Believe it or not, this was the biggest thing […]

How To Stay On Time When You’re Always Running Late

How To Stay On Time When You're Always Running Late

Who needs to go to the gym when you burn most of your calories running…late. Knowing you’re on a tighter schedule than you’ve planned (or didn’t plan) on is hurried (obviously), stressful, and always seems to leave you feeling like you’ve forgotten something. I almost always find myself leaving my room later than planned for class, work, or to meet someone for dinner. Despite this, I’m hardly ever actually late; in fact, I’m usually early, sometimes even ridiculously so. If you can’t seem to stop being not-so-fashionably late, keep reading for eight ways to help you stay on time, even when all hope seems lost! via 1. Review your day the night before. Knowing what you have going on will help you actually know where you have to be throughout the day and when. How can you plan when to get up if you don’t know where you’re supposed to […]

How To Make The Most Of College Tours

College visits are some of the most exciting (and terrifying) things about being an upperclassman in high school. Trust me, I should be an expert on this topic. I went on 12 college tours from New York to Tennessee to Florida. Yes, that means a lot of road trips, a lot info sessions, and a lot of brochures. But they were a lot of fun too! Getting to walk around a college campus and imagine what my future there could look like was so surreal. Today I’m sharing my tips for getting the most out of your college visits!   1. Do your research. University of Maryland- College Park I had a master spreadsheet that was absolutely insane. I finally deleted it a few months ago, but I wish I kept it so I could show you what I mean! Start early and make a relaxed list of any school […]

What To Do When You’re Feeling Overwhelmed

Can I just say that classes this year went from 0 to 100 real quick? In addition to all new subjects to deal with, I have more extra curricular and work responsibilities than I’ve ever had before. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t regret any of those responsibilities; I’m gaining great leadership experience and having a lot of fun in the process. This, however, means that I have a lot more on my plate. I need to manage my time even more specifically to meet my various deadlines. I’m also finding myself sleep-deprived, stressed, and overwhelmed more regularly. Life shouldn’t be so exhausting all of the time. You shouldn’t have to go through your days feeling like there’s too much for you to handle. “Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t.” -Rikki Rogers I know you can handle […]
